Life: Friday Ramblings

I have a bazillion...
...pictures to show you today, but I'm trying to keep it condensed to three!

Please welcome our newest...
...family member to R&W!  I'm officially introducing our new puppy, Loki.  He is a brindle & piebald miniature dachshund.  He's a whopping 3.5 pounds as in about the same size as a large guinea pig.  He has long, floppy ears that he trips over as he runs.  He has a face that looks perpetually sad, but contradicts with his body language that shows complete joy.  He grew up in a home with lots of people and pets so he doesn't know what it means to be alone.  The poor guy laid down and did a howling wail when I simply walked to the other side of the kitchen island.  Where we have some work to do with his apparent separation anxiety, we are BLESSED that baby boy is fully potty trained.  He hasn't even had one accident yet.  Knock, knock, knock..

The kids are completely...
...in love with Loki.  I was afraid they'd reject him after their devastating loss with Thor, but I'm happy to report that I feared in vain!  They're completely infatuated with him and his playful nature.

What are your Friday Ramblings?

  1. He is soooo cute, those lil paws and flying ears and that little wiggly tail! Did he sleep with the kids? I cannot imagine they'd let him sleep alone so small and cute LOL

    1. They did ask, but we won't let him sleep with anyone. I'll picture us waking up to a dead dog he's so tiny! Although, they won't leave him alone for all the waking hours of the day.. hahaha

  3. Aww what a cute pup! I hope he gets used to your quieter home and he adjusts to being able to be by himself! He's adorable :) We loved that our dog was already toilet trained when we got him from the shelter too - settling in was hard to do but not having to worry about that was a bonus!

Hope you are having a good weekend! It's a busy one here with lots of fun events, last night was a Christmas event at a theme park!

  4. I love him so much! My daughter walked by as I was reading this post and had me wait to comment until she was done admiring your new puppy. She was all "AWWWWW! Loki is the cutest dog ever!" If we lived closer, you'd never have to worry about a dog sitter because she'd volunteer to do it all the time for free LOL.
