Life: Friday Ramblings

I found happiness in...
...a gnome village at a local park.  The trees are decorated with little doors and there are little shops all along the walkway.  There is a gnome cobbler, a gnome grocery store, and even a gnome Airbnb.  It was super cute a lovely moment of innocent fun during these outrageous times that have me slipping between depression and anxiety.

I have nothing else good to say this week...
...so I'll end my post with this really insightful video.

What are your Friday Ramblings?

  1. My late grandmother had a Snowhite and dwarves in her front yard, the fugliest and kitchiest thing ever LOL We also have two flowerpots in the form of swans, burns my eyes everything I go out to the yard. We got it from an aunt, sadly.

  2. I understand both sides, but it’s not like this is anything new: https://www.history.com/news/vaccine-passports-smallpox-scar?fbclid=IwAR3nILyFqF7rKL66fwGN1dVe2OT3iIh00QirEUV1l22V8GFNw3jReemjSgI

I blame the terrible messaging from Trump AND the CDC from the start.

    1. I have so many feelings on this. First off, I don't think it's a side. I think it's the world versus COVID and the divide that has formed in our country is counterproductive. I totally agree with you on the terrible messaging, but I'd love to add Biden to that list. Mandating a vaccine that doesn't stop the spread is causing a bigger problem. Vaccinated people were told it's safe to take their mask off. They did and cases went through the roof. Then unvaccinated people were told they're spreading it. Um, what? That aside, my biggest problem with Biden's mandates are his disregard for our freedoms and his discrimination against people with mental illness. Who is anyone to tell me that my anxiety isn't real? I shouldn't have to go through the mental anguish of being forced to vaccinate. I don't talk about it much because I don't want to be labeled as "crazy", but mind over matter is very real. I'm currently on medication for hypertension, medication for my anxiety, and now special vitamins for my hair. Why? Because our government feels we are cookie cutter. Everyone is different and these mandates are absurd. Why should I be put into a situation that makes me choose between my family's livelihood and my personal, mental health? I work for a subcontractor of the federal government, so if his mandates pass, I wouldn't even qualify to test out. It's vaccinate or be fired. And, with these mandates, who would even hire an unvaccinated person after I lose this job? I wouldn't, simply because it's not worth the hassle. I mask up, barely leave my home (I don't even go grocery shopping!!!!), and when I do leave home, it's for outdoor activities. A president that points to me and says "You're the problem" while wagging his finger at me that he "lost his patience" is seriously offensive.

When I went to Salem, we did a tour about the Salem Witch Trials. They said it all came down to a formula that governments follow to get their way. It's FEAR + TRIGGER = SCAPEGOAT. At the time the government played on their fear of the devil, used a bored little girls antic's as a trigger, and then blamed fake "witches" as the scapegoat. This was repeatedly done throughout history. You could even use AIDs as an example. Death (Fear) + Media (Trigger) = Gay Community (Scapegoat). The same thing is happening now. So you're right. Sadly, it is nothing new. It's something we've been doing since the 1600s. And it will probably never change. :(

Thanks for letting me rant!! Hopefully Google doesn't shut me down again over it.. lol

  3. I’m sorry you are so stressed out and I do understand anxiety. I’m on a beta blocker because of it. My BMI is 20 and I walk 3-4 miles a day, so my blood pressure has nothing to do with lifestyle. I also have needle phobia and have never even had pierced ears. So yes, I get it! I do agree that the media is a big part of the issue with the fear mongering. My husband, for some unknown reason, is freaked out still, and we are all vaccinated! I’ve now canceled two vacations, missed my class reunion, numerous weddings, concerts, etc. because he refuses to go to gatherings. He won’t go to church and doesn’t like us going, but my daughter teaches a preschool class once a month, so that’s when I take her.

From the medical community,I’ve read that Covid will always be here. We will all get it eventually. The vaccine just prevents serious infection and hospitalization. At some point, it will turn endemic like other coronaviruses (common cold). Personally, I don’t think masks do anything but hygiene theater. It just makes people feel better. The only reason cases went through the roof was the delta variant being more contagious. Not because people stopped wearing masks. But yeah, Biden is ridiculous, treating people like children. I think the mandates are just making people NOT want to get vaccinated.

Hope you can relax and have a good weekend! XO

    1. Ugh, I'm sorry. It stinks for everyone. For what it's worth, I think your husbands fear is validated along with all of our different fears. No one knows what is right or wrong anymore, I just wish people would stick together more and remember the common enemy (COVID). Unfortunately, I think you're right again. COVID19 will never formally go away and we will all get it eventually. I just wish that I didn't have to lose my job in the process! If I lose my job, we lose the house, my car, my phone, my computer (the last 3 are company paid) in the process. It looks like either way, I'm losing my hair. Although, my dr. recommended some vitamins for me and I do see regrowth coming in, although it's very thin, very short, and very GRAY!

    2. What does your husband think you should do? Did he get vaxxed? I’m worried for you 🙏😢

    3. Yes, he is vaxxed. He was one of the firsts as an essential worker in the healthcare and nursing home facilities. He thinks I shouldn’t because he knows how I’ll be. He says I’ll feel the vaccine in my blood.. and he’s not wrong. Lol

  4. P.S. I did natural childbirth 3 times because I didn’t want a needle in my spine. People ever can believe that one. So yeah, you can imagine what I go through with vaccination# and blood draws!

    1. OMG!! You deserve serious KUDOS for that. I had (2) scheduled c-sections because of my spinal surgery, so I can't relate, but can only imagine the horror you went through!!

    2. The thought of being sliced open HORRIFIES me, so giving birth seems like a big nothing! Lol!

  5. I love stumbling on these little villages. I found some in Ireland and was quite delighted at how adorable it was. I found a few more in NOLA. I don't think I've seen any in Indiana though. We're a bunch of sticks in the mud.
