Life: Friday Ramblings

Our day off last week was...
...exactly what we needed!  Aside from the HORRID traffic, we had the best time.  We went to the bird sanctuary, walked around Sag Harbor in a "touristy" fashion, and stopped at a roadside restaurant where they catch and sell fresh fish.  While we had lots of laughs, I think we laughed the hardest when we passed by the lovely piece of art pictured above.  Anyone interested in purchasing?

The day ended just as good when... aunt surprised me with a girl's night to celebrate my birthday.  We had sparkling sake and sashimi while we sat talking for over three hours.  My husband and the kids didn't mind because they got to enjoy her inground pool, pizza, and homemade margaritas.  Ok, so the kids didn't drink the cocktails, but they were sitting at my uncle's backyard tiki bar!  Just sayin..

I feel the need to confess that...
...I went shopping this past Sunday with the excuse that we needed to replace our broken wine glasses.  Well, while my intentions were innocent, Homegoods played me.  They had the most BEAUTIFUL displays of Autumn decorations out and I just couldn't help myself.  I ended up leaving with a cart full of Fall decorations, Halloween costumes for the kids, and even a Christmas present..  Please know that I'm bowing my head in shame.

Speaking of Fall, I'm in complete shock that... daughter's registration for Dance Class is this week!  Baby girl officially graduated from her (1) HR combo class to a (1.5) HR ballet, tap, and Jazz class!  Dance class and regular school too officially start in a month.  Craziness!

We're trying to scratch the...
...traveling itch by planning a short road trip to Massachusetts.  Similar to our trip last year, we'll be planning mostly outdoor activities and taking the time to really enjoy the state!  One of my favorite places is Salem and my husband has never been.  We'll make sure to check that off of the bucket list that I keep on his behalf list!  There's such a fun mix of fun, educational, and kid friendly activities in this state that I know everyone will have a great time.

We're prepping for a CRAZY...
...busy weekend.  We have a wedding tonight, plans with my in laws tomorrow, and a day trip to one of my Summer bucket list places (link) on Sunday.  I haven't knocked much off of that list this year, so I'm pumped to go visit Cony Island for the first time!!  Imagine?  I live 30 minutes away and it's such a to do to get there?

In other, more public, news...
...I feel so deeply portray by Governor Cuomo.  When we called you the Love Gov, I thought it was just because of your refined good looks!  For shame, Cuomo, for shame..

What are your Friday Ramblings?

  1. Well, that art is something else LOL
Glad you had a lovely time playing tourist.
I'd like to sit at a tiki bar and have pizza and margaritas. That sounds like a perfect day to me.
I thought of you with Cuomo. I know you are/were a fan, and as much as I have never liked the guy, I felt bad for you learning about his indiscretions.
Have fun at Coney Island. I loved it there!

    1. I was devastated to say the least. I stopped liking him once we learned of him lying about the nursing home deaths. It's one thing to make a mistake, it's another to lie about it. Especially when you are the face we trusted. The rest is just icing on the cake. I do think they're making a bigger deal about the harassment than they should, but he definitely deserves to be punished for his other crimes.

  2. Is that pup pooping? Da hell?
    Have fun at the wedding!
I always found Cuomo nasty, just did not want to angry you LOL

    1. I'm not 100% sure, but it sure looks like it! I mean, what on Earth else could it be doing?! hahaha

You wouldn't anger me. Everyone else hated him and I don't get mad when people disagree with me. But, he did turn out to be a skeeze ball, didn't he?

  3. I can’t believe you’ve not been to Coney Island! Have fun! I’d love to sit at a Tiki Bar. We are canceling our vacation to the Finger Lakes this month. Mask mandates have ruined it for us. I guess we will try to find some things to do around here, but I’m just not feeling it. Too irritated!

    1. I've never been! My uncle is coming with us and has been b*tching about it for weeks. Coney Island has a bad rep, but I heard they redid a lot of it and it's a lot safer now. You'll find something else fun to do. Is there another state nearby that you'd be happier visiting?

    2. My husband refuses to stay in a hotel because the numbers are so high. I really don’t feel like coming up with new ideas. Over it!
