Life: Friday Ramblings

I'm laughing at...
...Price Charming's faces in the above pictures.  I asked him to take a picture before he ate the cake, and the face he made was priceless.  Less than five minutes later, he was allowed to dive into the chocolate cake and was ALL smiles.  Can we please take a moment to appreciate his mushiness?  Ok, thank you..

I had an absolutely spectacular...
...birthday!  It was simple but my family made me feel special.  My husband served dinner, cleaned up, and even got me my favorite cake by Coldstone Creamery.  I almost melted when my daughter presented me with a gift that she picked out all by herself.  Supposedly she went grocery shopping with my grandmother and insisted that she needed to get me a box of rainbow cookies because she knows I love them.  It really was a great way to turn 33!

The organizational changes finally... confirmed.  I spent the past two weeks having no clue what my job would be or who my boss would be.  After several educated guesses, I finally got an answer and thank goodness because it really had me on edge.  The good news is, I get to keep my boss who is AWESOME!  The bad news is, it comes with a lot more work.  The three districts that I manage is becoming 16 districts!  On the bright side, my manager recognizes this crazy task and is working to make it "manageable".

I broke up a few fights this week between...
...all the hummingbirds going to battle over my feeder!  You know all the videos where dozens of hummingbirds eat from one feeder harmoniously?  Well, not here.  This one little lady claimed ownership and has fought off multiple hummingbirds as once to keep that homemade nectar all for herself.

I'm really looking forward to...!  My husband and I took off this Friday a few weeks ago.  We're dropping the kids off at Summer camp and enjoying a day to ourselves.  This is something that we haven't done in almost 6 years.  Our itinerary is simple.  A low key brunch, a walk through a wildlife refuge, and then sitting on the beach at the refuge watching the waves roll in.  For the record, my husband wanted to go to the sanctuary all on his own.  Seriously!

What are your Friday Ramblings?

  1. So nice that your birthday was lovely!
You should ask for more minions at work, but be careful not to take any millennials again!

  2. That picture is a classic. Is that a PB and Chocolate cake? Yes, red wine goes perfectly with that! Lol!
I’m so glad that you and your husband get a day to yourselves! You guys need that to recharge. Have fun!

  3. I'm glad you had a good birthday

  4. Glad you had a great birthday! I get the same look on my face when I have to wait for a slice of cake lol

Hurray for a day alone with the hubby! It sounds like a low key way to reconnect and recharge!

Spread a smile with a comment!
