Life: Friday Ramblings

I'm in complete and total disbelief that...
...tomorrow is the official first day of Spring!  I know that I say this way too often, but it's crazy how quickly life passes us all by.  I thought time went fast, then the world shut down.  Life in quarantine is mundane, boring, and feels like it passes by much quicker.  It's certainly gotten better, but I constantly find myself saying "It's time to go to bed again?" or "Wasn't it just LAST Friday?".  Either way, I'm excited for Spring to come and the freedoms that will follow with the warmer weather.

To get in the spirit we...
...swapped out our normal decorations for our brighter, more colorful, Springtime decor.  Our pig cookie jar was carefully packed away and replaced with our carrot-car-racing Bunny.  Our lumbar pillow was replaced with our Spring themed stuffed bunny and piglet.  Finally, we dug out the hungry little guy pictured above to add some color to the fireplace mantle.

The only thing that's missing is...
...my annual trip to Pier 1 to get all of the extra Easter and Spring decorations that I totally don't need.  Unfortunately, they shut down near me and I'm at loss without my favorite home store.  Fortunately, for my wallet, I won't be spending any money this season.

I'm super shocked that...
...my husband got vaccinated last week!  I didn't want to influence him one way or the other, but I have a fear of the vaccination the way most people have a fear of COVID.  Since he works primarily in hospitals and nursing homes, he's tested several times a week.  He's sick of the nose swab and chose to take his chances with the shot.  Here's to health for everyone and zero long term repercussions from the shot.  Feel free to calm my nerves in the comments and tell me how safe the shot is.  Because, it is safe, right?!

We're super proud of...
...my daughter for receiving another religious sacrament!  Last week she had her first reconciliation at the church.  She was real nervous, but got through it like a super star.  Next up, communion!

What are your Friday Ramblings?

  1. It is time for Easter spring decor indeed, but not for me, I do it a few days ahead of the Easter LOL The biggest decor shop here went into bankruptcy as well so we are now down to only smaller decor stores.
We had tons of people die here after the shots, so I've no intention of taking it myself, just yesterday one of our acting legends went into hospital because he got corona even though he was vaccinated twice! One of my friends had a week of terrible flu after the shot, so I'm not taking a risk. If I had to I'd take the Russian one, Pfeizzer and Astra Zeneka NEVER and I don't have any trust in the Chinese one either. We're the only country who can actually choose the vaccine LOL as our dictator has sold his soul to the devil.

    1. Wait, I'm super confused.. People are dying from the vaccine near you?? Please tell me how, why, etc.. Why would they give people the vaccine if it isn't safe? My husband got none of those mentioned. He got Moderna. The only people I know that got Pfizer was my mom, brother, and sister in law.

    2. Yes, I think mostly from Astra Zeneca one but I am not sure. None of the vaccines has been tried and studied enough, they all rushed them into use, so everybody who takes it is basically a guinea pig. It is interesting that in my county mostly male celebrities are dying, no ladies. We had dozens of actors and singers die from covid (they were not vaccinated). But now this 90 year old acting legend got covid even though he got both turns of the vaccine. It is very suspicious.

    3. Yikes! It does sound suspect. Do you think they were murdered?!

    4. I have no idea, probably not directly, but it is very strange that we have dozens of dead celebs, more than 200 dead doctors and not one dead politician or member of the ruling party. But men really are more careless than women, so who knows...

    5. The doctors make sense since they were the front lines. The celebrities are odd.. Maybe they were all just careless.

  2. I’ll break out the Easter decor next week! I have no fear of any vaccine and I don’t buy some of these stories. So many kooks out there like Wakefield and Tenpenny spreading their fear porn. Tenpenny is a local lunatic that I’ve been familiar with for years because she fools parents of kids with autism into spending big $ on bogus treatments.

I’m writing a post now about my experience with the Covid vaccine and hopefully publish next week.

    1. I'm not so worried about the short term effects. I see many people get sick and their arm have some pain near the injection site. Luckily, my husband had very mild side effects. I'm worried about what happens a few years from now. Just in case something catastrophic happens, some of us have to be here to take care of all the children in the world. I volunteer for that. (Sadly, I'm not even joking. This in my fear.)

    2. https://horizon-magazine.eu/article/five-things-you-need-know-about-mrna-vaccine-safety.html

The problem with the doomsday folks is that no one can tell me the end game. Sex, money or power? I don’t see anything about sex. Power and $?? If we are all sick and dead, who do they have power over? And they won’t be getting our taxpayer money because no one will be left to work.

    3. But, what if it's just an accident? A truly unknown side effect? It's possible! I'm all for the vaccinations that have been around a while with a general sense of the long term side effects, but something so new is subject to "surprises" (both good and bad ones).

    4. I read the article. The first point makes me a feel a little more comfortable knowing that similar stuff has been tested since 2011. I haven't heard anything about changing DNA. My fear is more of increasing the risk of some other disease down the road like cancer or MS, not a zombie apocalypse. I'm sure you've read on here before, I'm a diagnosed hypochondriac. What I find odd as a hypochondriac is that my brain tells me to fear the vaccine more than COVID. What I believe the reasoning for that is b/c I know what could happen with COVID. I don't know what could happen with the vaccine.

    5. I understand. My daughter's BFF is a hypochondriac and works in nursing homes (therapist) and has not got the vaccine yet. I'm hoping she doesn't lose her job down the road!

Nothing is ever going to be 100% safe. They can't make a car that will 100% protect us. You just have to weigh the pros and cons and your own risk analysis to make a decision. Glad to know you aren't worried about a zombie apocalypse. There's some crazy crap out there!

  3. Yeah, you never know the side effects of new things until they kill a few people. Not a fun way to find out. Still with the fast thing? So slow when bored. You are backwards. lol

  6. I will get my vaccine here shortly. I've been eligible for awhile since I am on biologics and that suppresses my immune system, making me high risk. However, I got a letter from my GI stating "oh, we recommend the vaccine. be sure to get it asap. it's super safe." However, further down the letter it also stated, "you may be asked to give blood samples periodically so we can study the affects of the vaccine in the system of those who are immunocompromised." Like, WTF!? How can you insist it is safe for me in one breath, then make it sound like I'll be a test dummy for it a few paragraphs later?

My nieces sister in law just passed away from Covid last week. Poor thing was in her mid 30's, single mom to a 2 year old and 8 year old. She's been on oxygen for the past few years, so I can see how it turned really bad really quickly for her, but I can't help but think if she would have been able to get the vaccine before some of these politicians and celebrities, she might still be with us today.
