Life: Friday Ramblings

We had a fabulous...
...Thanksgiving dinner!  I cooked enough food to feed our regular guest list of 40 people because I already took the day off of work.  After eating as much as we could, we made some home deliveries, put together doggy bags, and froze some future meals.  Our dinner table consisted of my family of four, my grandparents, and my aunt.  While we missed our regular guests, I enjoyed the smaller guest list.  Things were less confusing and I actually had time to sit with my company instead of running in circles catering to the needs of a million people.

Despite my good report we...
...forgot to break the wishbone AGAIN!  Every year we forget about the poor wishbone.  Last year, we broke the wishbone in March when I made a pot of Turkey soup from the leftover carcass.  Yes, I said carcass, Dez!  :)  I remember this because we wished for COVID19 to end quickly.  So much for that wish!  Since I put it on my list this year, I remembered to remove the wishbone and put it to the side, but we forgot to break it.  A mental note to add "break the wishbone" to next year's list has been made.

The tinnitus in my ear has...
...come back full force leaving me wide awake in frustration all night long.  So much for that miracle nose spray and the 90 dollars we spent on it!

I'm in complete shock that...
...it's freaking DECEMBER already!!  When did that happen and WHY does time fly?  I'm still looking for a recipe to slow down time.  If you know a trick, please pass it along.

We had a very relaxing...
...holiday weekend.  My husband went away with The Viking on a hunting trip while the kiddies and I laid low.  We decorated for Christmas, watched lots of cheesy holiday films, made Jiffy Pop on the stove top, and spent way too much time on the couch.  While I feel refueled from it, a relaxing, long weekend doesn't make for the juiciest of Friday Ramblings!

What are your Friday Ramblings?

    1. LOL I knew you'd like that. It was pleasant. Seems the theme of 2020 is small, intimate gatherings with those you're closest with. Each time I was surprised to see it was more enjoyable than the larger parties. We'll celebrate Christmas with my grandparents as well since they are already watching our children on off days. What are your holiday plans?

    2. No plans as I don't have a family. I should finish the book I'm working on by then, probably, so I will just try to rest a bit after four months of toil.

  2. I’m glad you had a nice holiday weekend but I’m sorry the ear issue continues. Medical issues are so frustrating! For two weeks, I’ve had blurry vision, weird lines and an arc of light on the outer edge of my left eye.Went to eye dr yesterday and was diagnosed with posterior vitreous detachment of the retina. There is no treatment! It’s just one of those things that happens with age. So damn irritating! But at least not life threatening, I guess!

  3. We always forget to grab the wishbone also! Your weekend sounds awesome! I have one more weekend that I'll be working on the house, but next weekend I am all about popcorn and cocoa and holiday movies snuggled on the couch with the family.
