Life: Friday Ramblings

Friday Ramblings

I have to admit that I really didn't have...
...a very good week.  My phone finally completely broke down after taking a swim in a water park.  I was having terribly anxiety and wasting life fixing something that I knew was dumb.  I was fighting with my husband because I accidentally ran over his phone, laptop, and coffee mug that I didn't know he left on the trunk of my car.  That meant neither of us had a working phone.  Did I mention our phones are company phones and the damage had to be reported to our managers?  The lack of phones meant that we missed the memo that my son's day care closed early, so he was abandoned for 30 minutes until they reached his emergency contact for pick up.  I was drowning in work and making little progress because I was focused on that stupid project mentioned above.  I wasted a second morning driving the kids to day care that was actually closed.  I then had to try to sit on conferences all day with the kids running around me.  I clicked the wrong button at work while taking a daily health survey.  Suddenly, everyone at work and their mother got alerted that I may have corona and to quarantine for 14 days.

I could go on and on.. but you get the point.  It was a bad week.

Saturday morning I woke up to...
...to the little lady bug pictured above chilling on our pepper plant.  As I stood there watering the plants I thought, "I'll leave you alone because I could use some good luck".

A knock on my door meant...
...my husband and I's new phones were delivered from our job.  We didn't get in trouble for breaking them and they were replaced with seriously amazing upgrades.

The mail man delivered...
...an envelope that held a certificate and license.  It was our notification that my husband passed the county exam he needed to keep his job!  After failing several times, you could see the pride and relief in his face for the rest of the afternoon.

We got a phone call from...
...our insurance company that they settled on a payoff amount for all the damage our house suffered from a storm a few weeks back.  It was a generous amount which means everything we need fixed or replaced will be.  & with zero out of pocket expense!!

My cucuzza plant that I pronounced dead...
...sprouted three new flowers.  I was upset that this year's harvest only gave us two cucuzzas, but it looks like she isn't done yet!

All I can say is...
...not too bad for a bug, right?  Lady bug, I may totally and completely skeeve you but you're welcome any time!

What are your Friday Ramblings?

  1. Reading that first chapter, I thought it must be Friday the 13th, but it isn't :) But it seems everything had a happy end! In other news, I once ate a ladybug... it hid in my cappuccino and I nibbled on it thinking it was a crystal of brown sugar. It wasn't nasty, in case you wonder about the flavour....

    1. It's really not funny that you accidentally ate a lady bug, but I'm laughing sooo hard.. LOL Ugh I bet you can still feel that crunch in your mouth when you think about it.

  2. That is a miserable week! My oldest HATES ladybugs. I have no idea why! Now people buy ladybug motif clothes and toys for her 12 month old daughter LOL!

I think it’s fairly common for people to break and lose cell phones, so don’t be too hard on yourself. Someone who works for my husband reported her business phone as lost and ordered a new one. The next day, it was found in a conference room. She was embarrassed, but with Covid, there aren’t many people in the office, so no one saw it for a few days.

Glad your house insurance came through and hubby got recertified!

    1. I'm not a fan of lady bugs either, but this one is welcome any time! I would have felt silly too, but stuff happens. My husband was extra upset because he job is 100% on a phone. As in inspects life safety systems, he has to check off each device on an app. Poor guy had to check off countless devices on a piece of paper. He got even more mad when my phone came in first. :)

  3. haha you know you have had one of those weeks when you thank a bug.

That is still great that the birdies helped with the insurance payout. Breaking both phones though, you sure are on a roll lol

I still snicker at you doing that time consuming thing hahaha

  4. Lady bug sure brought luck by the end of the week. Hurray that insurance will be covering the damage with no out of pocket expenses. That's such a relief!
