List: Happy blog-iversary to R&W!

Ten years ago, was my first EVER post ever on R & W.
That makes today my 10 year blog-aversary!  Please join me in wishing a very..
Happy Anniversary to Raviolis & Waterworks!
Special shout out those of you that have read my very informative blog since day one.

In celebration of R&W's special day, I thought we'd take a trip through the past.  During that ride down memory lane, I revisited old posts to pick my top ten favorite.  Don't give me that look!  You know you secretly want to relive these..

Happy Blog-iversary to R&W!

I had to list this one because it was my first lovely little list of ten.  It's a list of ten ideas of things for me to do on a Sunday without football.  It may be my most ridiculous list ever, but it is still a list!

This is a list of things I learned after almost a decade of friendship with my good friend, Pat!  It's a perfect testament to our friendship and our entertaining conversations.  R&W started as a diary.  I never imagined that I'd meet such great people and develop friendships.

This is a more recent post, but it was one of my most therapeutic ones.  I was ecstatic to get the surgery but felt so guilty and selfish for it.  This post help resolve those feelings.

This is a list of all my favorite lists.  What's not to love about this post?!  It speaks for itself.

This may not have been my most brilliant post ever, but it's a perfect representation of me.  Rereading this post ten years later had me laughing so hard that I was in tears.  For those of you who are curious, no, the love bug NEVER saw justice!

This post is short, sweet, but FULL of memories and wedding photos.  Just so you all know how privileged you are, I didn't even share wedding photos on Facebook!  Coming to this post to see some snapshots of the special day makes me smile.  Besides the wedding part, it's worth a peek just to see my baby girls MUSHY cheeks!!

My favorite entries to post are the Friday Ramblings because they are real fun to write.  This post, back in October 2015, was my very FIRST Friday Ramblings.

I still suffer from terrible anxiety, although I've become better at distraction techniques.  Through a lot of hard work, I've learned to not allow anxiety to dictate my life.  This post is right around the time that I started taking charge of it by going to counseling.

This is one of my favorites to read to my hubby when he says something preposterous.  Like recently when he asked if I was getting my period because I looked bloated..  Um, excuse me?

For R&W's 4th birthday, I listed notes of appreciation to some of my favorite bloggers.  Many of these fabulous people are around today which totally makes me smile!  Blogger has introduced me to many great people that I am so happy to call my friends.  Another post that proves this is What I've Learned Through Blogging!

What is your favorite blogging memory?

  1. Happy Bloggaversary! It is interesting that most of us old school Bloggers have been around for about a decade or so! Back in the days there were more people commenting, I sometimes had up to 70 comments per post, now it is just a few of us, sadly.

    1. Thank you!! Yup, it's very different. I look at some of those posts and I do exceed 50 comments regularly. Some regulars like Betsy, Anne, and Caitlyn have seemed to go MIA.. although, I still keep in touch with Betsy and Caitlyn on Instagram. Have you seen a dip in page views? While comments have gone down for me, page views have gone up.

    2. Page views are for me often like a rollercoaster. My daily regulars usually include about 2,000 people, but there were days when that went up to 4-5,000 visitors a day, then once even half a million visitors a day (that was very crazy), then Blogger did something and the visits dropped inexplicably and drastically over night. I have good and bad days, but is always thousands at my place, and the daily number usually goes up during Xmas holidays and December and drops during summer. But I'm always aware and very sure that Blogger is messing with our numbers, I don't doubt that at all. That was especially visible when I turned on Google ads for the first time. When clicks started growing and they had to pay me about a $100 every two months, and that went on for a few months, they did something to stop it out of the sudden, now it's just a few hundred euro a year, sadly. I did increase the revenue, though, after installing those ads that appear in the middle of the post and everywhere a few months ago :)

    3. That's terrible. Google should be ashamed of themselves to cut people's revenue like that, especially with all the work that goes into a web page. Do you use Google Analytics? I downloaded it recently and it's mind boggling how the stats in Blogger and Google Analytics don't match at all, yet they are the same company - Google!!

  2. Congrats on a decade! I’m so glad I found your blog. I loved looking at your wedding photos. You are stunning! And now I need to read the backstory of Mushy! Lol! My son’s wedding reception was supposed to have been two days ago. I’m still bummed about having to cancel it; there’s no point in even rescheduling as they’ve already been married 8 months and who knows when her parents will ever be allowed in the US to visit.

I’m going to go back and read some of your other posts.xo

    1. Thank you!! Your comment seriously just made my day. :) The back story of Mushy is simple - she had the fattest cheeks I've ever seen to date. They were super mushy. I was hysterical laughing re-reading "Vandalized and Sad", part because it's just ridiculous and part because it really happened. hahaha

That stinks about the reception.. but maybe you can throw them the best ever anniversary party! Things have to slow down soon. I'm remaining optimistic that the world pre-covid will come back once more. I'll keep my fingers crossed for them that they get to celebrate. :)

    2. Don’t kill me....I meant how Mushy came to be! Lol!!! I just creeped on your 2012 posts and then your disappearance for almost 2 years. Don’t do that again!

    3. I'd never kill you. Mushy was a little surprise, but ended up being the best thing to happen to us. In that hiatus was a little blog called Meatballs & Yucca, which didn't resonate well with me. Ever hear Pat make fun of me for changing names and blogs?? Well, that's why!! lol

  3. Congrats on your 10 years! We've been blogging about the same amount of time, and I'm sure ran in the same circles, so I'm a bit sad that I only just met you like a year or so ago! Pat's been a good blog friend for most of those years for me too. Such a loyal visitor and social media sharer. I stared my blog as a bored sahm who wanted to figure out a way to make a little extra income, but I ended up making life long friends that I didn't expect. That was the real payoff for me. Some of those blog friends, especially Rosey (mail4rosey) and Dezzy, have helped me through some really horrible crises, from health to family issues. I grew to rely on their ears more than people in my every day circle. Idk if I'll still be blogging 1, 5 or 10 years from now, but I do know there are people I met through my blog that will be with me long after the blog is gone.

    1. The cat likes to tease but has a good heart deep down (I think??).. just kidding!! Mine started as a woman in hiding. I broke up with a crazy ex boy friend that was stalking me. I had to move in the middle of the night and my anxiety was through the roof. It started out as a diary, I guess.. then when people started reading, it turned into more. Glad to have met you!

    2. Ooof, that's an interesting way to start blogging. I am sure it was very therapeutic for you. Isn't it so funny how you can create this little space on the web and people actually come to read it. I was blown away when I got my first regular readers LOL. Glad to have met you, too!

  4. The cat will take the ego stroke haha

I remember all the posts indeed. Blogging sure has changed, but some of the old school ones are still around, here or elsewhere. Best thing about it is the people met indeed. Never would have guessed a rhyming cat would lead to that.

Does It still count as 10 years though with your little 3 year break lol

    1. I was willing to bet money that you were going to say that. Of course it counts! There was technical difficulties, remember?? All because I was too cheap to spend the $12 on a domain again. LOL

    2. lol sure, blame the technical difficulties
