Ideas: Valentine's Day Gift Ideas

Believe it or not, Valentine's day is quickly approaching!  I'm not big on Valentine's day gifts, but I do enjoy taking advantage of the day with a date night.  The hubby and I go out solo twice a year, and this is one of them so I really look forward to it!  We try to follow the philosophy of spending money on memories and experiences instead of things.  Additionally, my hubby and I agreed early on to not waste ridiculous amounts of money on flowers.  Instead, he surprises me with beautiful plants that will hopefully last me for years and years.  Last year I cheated.  I gifted him an outfit so he could dress as Sam Winchester.  He loved that!  Not..  Whether you're planning a date night or a small gift to say I love you, it's time to get moving on it!  Cupid is sharpening his arrows, practicing his shot, and getting ready to make his trip around the world.

Ten Valentine's Day Gift Ideas

While I'm not one for personalized things, I love the idea of a personalized garden stone.  To see this in the yard as the garden blossoms and grows would definitely make anyone smile.  Note- I would not personalize it with our names just in case an intruder came to visit!

I'm all about changing up pillows for holidays and seasons, and this one's perfect for Valentine's Day!  The good thing about pillows is that there's always a place for them be it a decorative bench, couch, or bed.

This gift set is packaged beautifully and comes with high quality products to renew your skin.  Sakura is the Japanese word for cherry blossom, which means this probably smells divine.  Are you looking for bonus points?  Pair this with a personal massage and chilled, sweet champagne!

I'm not a fan of cologne, but I adore this one!  Whenever I smell it, I tell the wearer that I love their scent.  That makes this the ultimate gift being that it's luxury for him, for her, and for everyone else!  I first smelled this on a customer at my dad's dry cleaners.  The face he made as I inhaled his dirty laundry...

Seductive candles always make for a great Valentine's day gift as they can serve multiple purposes.  If you're feeling extra frisky this Valentine's day, see also the Get Naked and Summer in the City scents!

This wood block calendar is a thoughtful Valentine's Day gift that's super inexpensive and easy enough to put together for sweetheart.  Make it extra special by corresponding pictures and memories with each month on the calendar.

If your sweetheart likes to cook, they'll swoon hard if you think their recipes should be documented!  Years ago my husband surprised me with something similar, and I totally treasure that book.  I write down all of my successful food experiments and dishes I learned by watching the pros at work.  After my great-great aunt passed away, I taped her zeppoli recipe into the book in her handwriting.  Your sweet gesture could become the next family heirloom passed down through generations!

While I don't own one, I know plenty of people that swear by them and their health benefits.  Valentine's Day is the perfect day to give the gift of decreased stress and warm snuggles!

Nothing says I love you better than a fancy board to serve your antipasto.  Well, nothing other than the board prepared with cheese, sopressata, and prosciutto di parma!

For the your coffee loving sweetheart, this is the ultimate gift, especially if paired with a brick of Cafe Bustello!  This type of pot may be archaic, but I have yet to see a fancy machine that makes an espresso better.

  1. Love garden stones and garden gnomes, although my cats would probably piss on them all day long. I'd take Valentines chocolates any day :)

    1. Oh no!! Maybe cage your gnomes behind pretty rod iron so the cats pee on the gate instead. Yesss to chocolate, always yes to chocolate :)

    2. They are currently in peepee frenzy as it is February, the hump month for cats, my yard is filled with neighbourhood tomcats chasing my two girls who are slutty like their owner, sadly... LOL

    3. This gave me a good laugh.. So you have a pair of slutty cats that like to tinkle when they are in the mood? Interesting!

  2. I actually like getting flowers now, but did feel like it was a waste of money when we were younger. Lingerie is my top choice in what I'd want to receive! And now I want to smell that cologne!

    1. My favorite is a bouquet of sunflowers, but I wouldn’t spend more than $4.99 on it! That’s what we pay at Target and they last about two weeks. The cologne is divine. Give it a try!

  3. Daisy asks for what she wants plus her favorite restaurant.

  4. Can I choose not to believe it so then the day will vanish? No? Pfft to flowers. Waste of money indeed. Those all hit the spot for lovey dovey. Not sure why he wouldn't want to look like Sammy hahahaha

  5. I don't have Valentine's Day gift ideas. I don't "celebrate" Valentine's Day, but it certainly doesn't bother me that other people do so. I hope you have a wonderful evening out on V Day.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Thank you, Janie! I hope that you do also, even if it's a quiet evening for you. :)

    2. I'll probably be at work. I don't mind working on "holidays."

    3. Well, I wouldn't consider this that type of holiday. Although, I'm sure that I'm bound to get a few requests from my team to leave early due to the "holiday". LOL

  6. We don't really celebrate the day, but if Jason were to buy me flowers, I hope he'd get me tulips over roses. We do buy our girls a little chocolate box assortment though.

Conversation I had with my 2 best friends yesterday:

Jenn: Look at this sweet mug that I bought Jeremy for Valentine's Day. (holds up a sickeningly sweet mug that just screams Hallmark)

Erin: How lovely! I bought Jon some Ball Wash. (yes, that's what you think it is!)

Bwahahaha. I love our girl chats!

    1. I do love tulips! They are certainly a happy flower. I love roses too, but in the garden, not in a vase.

hahahahaha Ball Wash? I'll have to look into that..

    2. Yes to roses in the garden and not in a vase. Jason did buy me an assortment last week, and the roses were the first to start dying from the lot. My rose bushes though, look lovely for quite a long time during the summer and fall months.
