Anyone who knows me in real life will tell you that I've been repeating the same thing for about a month now.
I'm like a broken record saying "...because bikini season is here!"
Well, it is! I'm just reminding all of you and myself...
No one wants to go to the beach all self conscious because they didn't focus on bikini season.
Just a few minor adjustments in your life could make a huge difference when diving into the pool!
For the record, I'm eating a Devil Dog as I'm typing this. I'll slap my own wrist later...

Jax's 10 Bikini Season Commandments
1. Mixed Drinks
Ditch the 1,000 calorie mixed drink and settle for a simple shot of whiskey.
One tenth the calories and gets the job done just as well!
2. Squat
I'm infamous for doing squats anywhere and everywhere. Up your game throughout bikini season.
Straightening your hair? Squat! Getting ready to tinkle? Squat! Washing the dishes? Squat!
3. Dance
Try to spend at least one night a week dancing your little butt off. It's fun and burns calories!
A good night of dancing means that you should be sore the next day. Just sayin...
4. Walk
Walk as much as you can throughout the day! It's great exercise and easy to incorporate into your day.
Walk the dogs, walk around the office building, or just go for a nice walk with a friend!
5. Dessert
Turn down dessert to trim your calorie intake.
I know that chocolate cake looks totally yum, but save it for the Winter time!
6. Salad
Fill one of your three main meals a day with a fresh, organic salad.
Hello vitamins, minerals, and a meal that will leave you feeling light and satisfied!
7. Green Tea
Drink at least three 8 oz glasses of fresh green tea a day!
It's been known to burn fats, hydrate you, and help clean out your system. Talk about a bikini miracle!
8. Shopping
Perfect season for plenty of outdoor shopping. It'll keep you moving and keep you happy!
This is totally different than #4. I mean, yea you're walking, but this time with a purpose!
9. Clothes
Dress wearing clothes that are a little bit more revealing.
If you are comfortable in your skimpier outfits, you're closer to being comfortable in your bikini!
10. Bikini
Go out and buy the perfect bikini for your body type.
Rocking the right bikini is the key to feeling hot and confident!
What are your bikini season secrets?
Men: Take out "bikini" and replace with "speedo".
When in doubt there is always that new procedure "coolsculpting" which is sweeping the nation. LOL!!!!
ReplyDeleteCoolsculping? Oh, I'm going to have to check that one out. LMAO I can only imagine what that is...
DeleteWater! Drink tons and tons of water (but not all at once because that can dilute your blood and kill you). And then colours... find the right colours for you. Jax is yellow, we know, but I would go for lime green maybe... and also dark blue with red/white trim. Mmmm deliciousness!
ReplyDeleteYou can OD on water?! Who knew!! lol
DeleteI totally agree with you on the colors! Yes, yellow is my color. Love ittt. Yellow and grey are my two favorite colors to wear. Dark blue is a fun color! Girl, cobalt has been in for the past 2 years!!! :)
I know! Isn't that freaky? I just found out. I think if you drink a lot slowly it's ok - it's just if you drink a whole bunch (like several litres) at once that there's a problem.
DeleteYou know the other thing I love? Polka dots :) Just love them! Stripes too.
Oh, polka dots are so fun! They remind me of pretty people like Marilyn Monroe. Vintage and totally gorg!!
DeleteYou enjoy your bikini season. I enjoy my 'wear 3 layers of clothes and 5 pairs of socks' season.
ReplyDeleteOhh, thats true. It's winter in NZ ;) It's snuggie season for you. lol
DeleteOh yeah you know I'm ready for speedo season! Squats and oats all day everyday! Those are some good tips, I enjoy dancing quite a bit.
ReplyDeleteooh, Matt in speedos. Jaxy, methinks we will need a photographic evidence of that :)
Delete@Matt...squats and oats just made me crack up!! Not to mention, I'm munching on my oat meal right now!! lol Ok, so I should probably eliminate the coffee too...
Delete@Dez...Let's start a petition!! Matt, we want to see the speedo!!!!! hahaha
Lol, where do I sign?
DeleteRight here, Right here!!! lol
DeleteLOL I don't even own a speedo!
DeleteCome on, Matt!! I think you should get one. It's an investment!!
Deletewe could accept pic without speedo as well, we're not picky, are we, Jaxy? We would settle with a fig leaf as well....
DeleteNope, not picky at all! Matt, we'll take any leaf you can get your hands on. hahaha
Deletemy solution for the bikini season is me never going to the beach :) Not that I have a beach in my town anyway :)
ReplyDeleteMe going to a beach would result with animal services coming to pick up an escaped walrus (that would be moi).
escaped walrus...lol...I don't believe that for a second, Dez. :)
Delete@Dez... I highly doubt that you even remotely resemble a walrus. I've seen pictures of your face, and don't recall seeing any tusks ;) You're too funny!!
Delete'tis true, I'm more of a raccoon type :)
DeleteRaccoon? Dez, you're gorgeous!! You'd rock a speedo like no other ;) I have zero doubts!
DeleteTo sit and watch girls like you.
ReplyDeletelol...in your speedo?
Deletenude.
DeleteOh my! You'll give the bikini girls quite the surprise ;)
DeleteI'm with you on the green tea and water.
ReplyDeleteSmaller portions...no bad carbs...lots of treadmill. Eat something good for you before you get too hungry. If you're ravenous you'll eat too much and anything in sight.
Had to laugh at the squats. Those porta-johns at the outside auctions? Oh yeah...I'm squatting and not sitting! When your thigh muscles are quivering, you know you're getting a workout! LOL!
Green tea and water are great ways to flush out your system! It's so important, especially when you learn about all the natural toxins in your body.
DeleteTreadmill? Ok, you win. That's a hell of a lot better than anything that I do!
LMAO You like the squats? I do them everywhere. My g/f teases me that I make her do squats randomly through out the day. No one wants jiggly thighs!
haha...actually I hate the treadmill and squats and curse my way through them...but they are very effective. lol....If I didn't have such a sweet tooth I could be so much lazier! Sigh.
DeleteNo jiggly thighs! Eew!
LOL I hate the treadmill because it's so boring, but squats I love. It's rare that I get sore thighs, but I loovveee that feeling.
DeleteEver joined Lucille Roberts? They have a buns and thighs class that used to make me so sore! I think I may sign up for the again.
good morning!
ReplyDeleteI haven't wear speedo before... haven't too much swimming before. When i went sea wear it...
But I enjoy Dessert and Green Tea!
Good morning :)
DeleteDessert and green tea sound like a great combination! Yum.
I don't think speedos leave much room for secrets
ReplyDeleteOh, no they do not ;)
DeleteGreen tea. Check.
ReplyDelete:)
Me too!! Me too!! lol
DeleteAs for the alcohol I say skip the whiskey and have a vodka diet soda or something else. Clear liquors have far less sugar and calories.
ReplyDeleteI am with whoever said water. I drink about a gallon a day and it really helps because sometimes when you think you need a snack, you're really just thirsty.
That being said, I will never wear a swim suit. I wear board shorts and a tankini top. No one needs to see this ass sans long cover, except the new boyfriend.
Good call on the alcohol! I stay away from vodka, but it is a better choice. I prefer whiskey or tequila. LOL Either way, anything is less calories than my favorite drink...a whiskey sour! Yum ;)
DeleteWater is a great tip. A gallon a day? Eep!! I'm lucky if I drink 8 oz of water a day...
Great tips! Just walking is a big one for me. I think I'm going to try the salad thing.
ReplyDeleteThe salad thing really works. I do that all year round and it keeps my belly in check and my body feeling healthy ;)
Deletethe salad does work...I've read that before...just don't load it up with cheese, bacon and a ton of dressing. lol (my favorite parts!)
DeleteYes, the salad is one of the greatest things I do. Every since I started doing that, I've felt so healthy! Fried/fatty foods weigh you down. A hearty salad at noon leaves you feeling good all day.
DeleteI don't use dressing, and I don't eat pig. I just squeeze some fresh lemon juice on top of the salad and call it a day! Fresh romaine lettuce, dried cranberries, cherry tomatoes, 1 serving fresh mozarella cheese, fresh blueberries, and honey roasted almonds. Yum!!
yum...that salad sounds wonderful. I could eat that every day!
DeleteI do eat it every day. It's so yummy!! You should try it out. You'll be surprised how good it is without dressing. The lemon juice does the trick. If I'm feeling extra daring, I'll put a few drips of olive oil over it. So yum and super healthy!
Deletethe first thing i did is try on last year bikini and see if still fit and in my case its ok maybe just a little bit more exercise.. so walking and eating light food like salad are the best for me plus having my baby keeping me fit :)
ReplyDeletexoxo, Haus of Gala
Oh, great tip!! We all say your bikini. Girl, you got a rocking body!! You don't need any of these tips! In fact, we should be taking tips from you. lol ;)
DeleteThank you Jax. I have to go pool party this weekend, I am thinking of excuses to skip the swimsuit part, and try only the barbecue, any tips for that?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cap! A pool party?? Oh, what fun!! Just bring one of those pool tubes and walk around with it on. No one can see through one of those things. LOL
DeleteLet's see, whether it works or not. ;)
DeleteSpeedo? Naa, I'm more of a shirt pants and winter jacket kind of a guy. Watch out beach here I come!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the summer weather!
No speedo? Damnit! Is Matt the only one willing to rock one??? lol Winter jacket in the pool? You must be a strong swimmer!! lol
DeleteGet waxed!!! That's my summer ritual now. It's much better than the, um, red bumps....lol
ReplyDeleteLMAO, yessss Elsie!!! Great tip! Acutally I just bought this new "shaving butter" that is AMAZING! You don't get one red bump. I use it everywhere. It's Shea Mositure African something. I have to get the name for you when I get home.
DeleteYes, give me the name!! Please! Peanut is getting little tiny bumps on her legs of all places. Poor sensitive kid!
DeleteShea Moisture African Black Soap Shave Butter....It's amazing!!!!!
Deletewow...that name took up 2 lines on my shopping list! But I'm going to look for some. :)
DeleteHooray! I forgot about this and now I remembered it - thank you for telling me about it. You rock!!
Deletenice list
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteR?
DeleteHmm, maybe!! and now he's using 2 letters to throw us off? lol
DeleteLOL if paid enough Pat would wear a speedo, but that is the only way. The cat charges double too for photos, as he has to make his commission. Or he could just sport the zebra thong..lol
ReplyDeleteAs far as what to do, walking is the only thing I need to do, do that more and more and all will be fine. Plus I don't eat much crap, so that helps as well and the tea is coming due more and more, water still blah for the most part.
LMAO How much does that cost??? I think Dez wants to see the cat in a speedo. LOL
DeleteWalking is a great thing to get ready for that speedo!! lol
Not just Dez count me in too. And I would video as well him moving to smurf moves ;)
DeleteHealthier snacks (instead of a candy bar, eat an apple with peanutbutter [this is also very filling, I can't finish a whole one] or tortilla with honey) and cut down on portions of meat. It also helps to just play around with your dog or with kids, plus it's pretty fun. (=
ReplyDeleteI'll be hitting up the track near my house as soon as I can, even though there isn't a beach near my house. Never know when I might get the chance to go! haha
Ok, ok...I'll stop eating Devil Dogs and start munching on almonds. LOL I looovveeee apples and peanut butter. So yum!!!!
DeleteI wear shorts over my bikini bottoms! No one needs to see all of me. I'm too shy.
ReplyDeleteGirl, I'm sure your bottom is just fine, but rock those shorts :) lol
DeleteI've never been a bikini person... give me a one piece any day!
ReplyDeleteOne pieces can be rocking too ;)
Deleteyour list is always fun to read. :)
ReplyDeletethis summer, i feel like i'm sooo not ready... i usually start working out like crazy a few months before the summer arrives. i totally slacked off this year, and i know i will not be wearing one this year... (hope i'm wrong!) :)
Thanks, Jasmine!!
DeleteYou still have time! Besides, I've seen your fashion pictures and I'm pretty sure that you're bikini ready :)
Shots? Yikes! Definitely go for the diet sodas. Also, I'm sort of summer ready...as I eat m&ms right now. And I don't even like them! I just felt like something sweet and that was in hands reach...oops?
ReplyDeleteLOL Girl, I don't do soda at all. Diet soda has horrible symptoms. So bad for you!!
DeleteI loovveee peanut m&ms. Yum!
Haha, yes to shots and dancing. I hope that's how my summer is defined :)
ReplyDeleteShots and dancing...let's goo!! lol
Deleteso cute, I love your posts.
ReplyDeleteLove the squating idea! so bomb. And the going on walks- ahhh, i love going on walks. I'm always begging my early- bird boyfriend to go with me on one at like 11 and sometimes, he will agree to do so.
I also just try to do strict, strict dieting during the week so I feel less bad on the weeknds.
And I don't enjoy just taking a shot so I'd probably switch a calorie-crazed cocktial with vodka, soda water with lime :)
This year I've been the worst I've ever been with the bikini battle (not now but just started like 2 months ago, as opposed to starting in feb) and it shows... so I'm doing all of this ten-fold now. Best to just keep it up!
Thanks, Caitlin!!!
DeleteThe squats are the key to everything. Oh how I love squads. Sore quads are one of my favorite feelings!! Walks are awesome too. Most of my summer friend dates involve a lot of walking :)
Girl, you go!!! lol
There is really no reason for me to buy a bikini. I really wish there was, but there isn't.
ReplyDeleteSpeedo, Jimmy!! Come on now...besides, we're trying to get a few of the guys send us photographic evidence of their speedos. Just saying... lol
DeleteHow about NO! :P
DeleteAck! Men in speedos! Not my favorite.
ReplyDeleteLOL Why?? Why?!?!?! hahahaha
DeleteSomething about seeing the goods so prominently displayed...I prefer the mystery of trunks or board shorts :)
DeleteSpeedos are just bikinis without the top bit, which is lucky because I could never find anything in my size.
ReplyDelete(I am typing and squatting. At a desk)
Your #1 is pretty hot.
ReplyDeleteWanna test the stretchiness of your new pair of jeans? Squat! Just don't do it when your friend's Mom's around. (Yes, it happened to me. She liked my underwear....)
ReplyDelete
